The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan has opened a criminal case after the deaths of five children and an adult in a fire in the Davlekanovsky district. This was announced on March 18 in the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.

"The Alsheevsky interdistrict investigative Department of the SU IC of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence to two or more persons), on the death of six people in an apartment building in the village of Vperyod," the statement said.

Experts conducted an inspection of the tragedy site. Medical examinations have been ordered, and witnesses are being interviewed. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

"The investigation of the criminal case has been put under control at the office of the investigative department of the republic," the Investigative Committee clarified.

The fire occurred on the night of March 18 in an apartment on the second floor of a two-story apartment building in the village of Vperyod. The fire area was 2.5 square meters. m. Five people and two pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. According to the preliminary version, the suspended ceiling started burning in the apartment.
