For the first time in history, Lokomotiv became the winner of the KHL regular season

Yaroslavl Hockey Club (HC) Lokomotiv beat Admiral Vladivostok 4-1 at home on March 17 in the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Among the Lokomotiv players Richard Panik, Martin Gernat, Alexander Polunin and Artur Kayumov scored the puck. Daniil Gutik scored against Admiral from Vladivostok.
Thus, for the first time in its history, Lokomotiv won the regular season, scoring 98 points in 66 matches. In the next match on March 19, Lokomotiv will play CSKA.
Earlier that day, all the KHL championship teams that will participate in the 2025 Gagarin Cup were determined.
Before that, on March 11, Dynamo Moscow lost to Neftekhimik from Nizhnekamsk in the KHL regular season match. This secured the first place for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Western Conference.
