The Palestinian Hamas movement claims that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is condemning hostages in the Gaza Strip to an "unknown fate" by ending a cease-fire agreement. This was reported on Tuesday, March 18, by the Israeli newspaper The Times of Israel.

"Hamas calls on the mediators — the United States, Qatar and Egypt — to hold Netanyahu fully responsible for ending the ceasefire agreement," the publication says.

In addition, according to the newspaper, Hamas calls on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to hold an urgent meeting to adopt a resolution on the cessation of hostilities by the Israeli side.

On March 17, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it was resuming military operations against the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in Gaza. As reported by Reuters, Israeli airstrikes damaged three houses in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza: a building in Gaza City and targets in Khan Yunis and Rafah.

At the same time, on March 18, journalist Barak Ravid stated that Israel had notified the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance of new air strikes on the territory of the Gaza Strip. Currently, at least 109 people have been killed as a result of the airstrikes.
