In Primorye, a deputy was detained in the case of fraud with waste disposal

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Primorsky Territory has detained a deputy of the City Duma of the Arsenyevsky city district in a case of fraud in the export of municipal solid waste. This was announced on March 18 in the press service of the department.

"According to the investigation, the defendant, being the director of a commercial enterprise, concluded a contract with the Primorsky Ecological Operator for the provision of services for the transportation of municipal solid waste in the Arsenyevsky city district. At the same time, in December 2023, the capacity of waste disposal at the landfill in the village of Starosysoyevka was exhausted," the Telegram channel of the regional office of the Investigative Committee reported.

The suspect was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on a particularly large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen's right to housing"). The damage from his actions amounted to 6.5 million rubles.

"TFR investigators conducted searches in the office and at the place of residence of the suspect," the Investigative Committee clarified.

It is reported that he admitted his guilt. The person involved will be questioned in the near future.

Earlier, on January 30, an ex-employee of the administration was detained in Serpukhov on suspicion of corruption. According to the investigation, from 2023 to 2024, the accused, who previously held the position of deputy and adviser to the head of the city district, periodically received bribes from individual entrepreneurs for accepting work from them under contracts with MBU "Combine of Landscaping" and for patronage during the execution of contracts. In total, he received at least 5 million rubles.
