At least 44 people were killed due to a series of Israeli Air Force strikes on Gaza.

At least 44 people were killed and at least 70 were injured as a result of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on Tuesday, March 18, by Al Jazeera TV channel.
"Medical sources told Al Jazeera TV channel: 44 people were killed and dozens injured as a result of the Israeli raids," a statement on the Al Jazeera Telegram channel said.
Earlier, a Qatari TV channel correspondent reported that at least 20 people were killed and more than 50 injured as a result of a series of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, the IDF announced the resumption of military operations against Hamas in Gaza. As reported by Reuters, Israeli airstrikes damaged three houses in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza: a building in Gaza City and targets in Khan Yunis and Rafah.
The first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian radical movement Hamas came into force on January 19. During the first phase of the 42-day deal, 33 Israeli hostages and about 1,900 Palestinians are to be released.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected Israel to massive rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel launched retaliatory strikes.
