A detachment of ships of the Russian Navy consisting of the corvettes "Sharp", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" of the Pacific Fleet will take part in the joint naval exercise PASSEX with the Naval Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This was announced on March 18 by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that the parties agreed to conduct the exercise during a visit by a detachment of the Pacific Fleet to the Pakistani port of Karachi.
As a result, on March 17, the Russian naval detachment took part in a conference and a number of official meetings with senior officers of the Pakistani Navy, where participants discussed the details of the joint exercise.
After the negotiations, the crews visited each other's ships, exchanged souvenirs and left entries in the books of honored visitors. Exercises to combat the ship's survivability were also demonstrated for Russian military personnel on the Pakistani corvette Babur.
On March 12, warships from Russia, Iran and China conducted an inspection and release of a ship seized by terrorists in the Gulf of Oman during the naval exercises Maritime Security Belt 2025. It is specified that the Russian Federation's corvettes "Sharp", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov", as well as the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" of the Pacific Fleet took part in the exercises.
