On March 19, Russia celebrates the Day of the Submariner, on the eve of which the crew of the Novomoskovsk strategic nuclear submarine missile cruiser conducted preparations for another trip to sea. The footage was published on Tuesday, March 18, by the press service of the Northern Fleet.

"We are on board the nuclear-powered submarine K-407 Novomoskovsk, whose main purpose is to destroy important enemy ground targets. The main weapon of the submarine is 16 Sineva intercontinental ballistic missiles, which are capable of destroying targets designated for destruction at a range of up to 11,000 km," said Anton Maslennikov, commander of the strategic missile submarine.

The footage shows how, before conducting training, the commander of the missile cruiser sets tasks for the personnel and gives parting words in order to maintain a high degree of combat readiness.

The entire crew of the SSBN took part in the training, showing professionalism, skills and determination.

The press service of the Northern Fleet clarified that the Novomoskovsk cruiser is one of the most reliable nuclear submarines. It is able to operate successfully in any latitude of the World Ocean, including in the Arctic — under the ice cap of the North Pole.

Earlier, on March 11, the press service of the Northern Fleet reported that the small anti-submarine ships of the Northern Fleet Snezhnogorsk and Yunga had carried out an attack on a simulated enemy submarine using standard weapons in the Barents Sea. It is specified that the ships also managed to practice a maneuver to evade a torpedo attack, which was carried out by a submarine.
