A Delta airline plane touched the runway with its wing during landing at LaGuardia Airport in New York. This was reported on March 17 by ABC News channel.

"According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on Sunday evening, a Delta airline plane touched the runway with its wing while landing at LaGuardia Airport," the airline reports.

After that, the pilot was forced to gain altitude again and go on a second lap to make another landing attempt. There were 76 passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants on board the aircraft, all of them were not injured.

According to Delta, the CRJ-900 model aircraft was making a regular flight from Jacksonville, Florida, to New York.

After the incident, the aircraft was temporarily decommissioned so that a maintenance specialist could assess its condition. It is specified that the event did not affect the operation of the airport.
