Robert Preston Morris, a clergyman and former spiritual mentor to US President Donald Trump, has surrendered to the authorities of the state of Oklahoma after being accused of sexually abusing a child. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on March 17.

"63-year—old Robert Preston Morris surrendered to the Osage County authorities, where last week he was charged with five counts of indecent or indecent acts with a child," the agency reports, citing a representative of the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office.

It is reported that the Osage County judge set bail for the accused in the amount of $50,000, and also ordered him to surrender his passport. In total, he could face up to 20 years in prison for each of the five charges.

Last year, Morris resigned as pastor of the Gateway evangelical megachurch after a woman accused him of sexual assault in the 1980s.

"After almost 43 years, the law has finally caught up with Robert Morris for the terrible crimes he committed against me as a child. Now it's time for the legal system to bring him to justice," said one of the victims, who is now 55 years old.

In 2024, seven women accused French Abbot Pierre, who passed away in 2007, of sexual harassment. Earlier, on May 25, a jury in the French department of Loiret sentenced former priest Olivier de Citivo to 17 years in prison for hundreds of cases of violence and sexual harassment against boys.
