In Dagestan, a local resident was killed in a collision between a car and a train. This was announced on March 18 by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
"A local resident was killed in a collision between a car and a train in Derbent district," the press service wrote on the department's Telegram channel.
It is specified that at a regulated railway crossing near the village of Dzhemikent, a 56-year—old driver of a KamAZ car drove into a forbidding traffic light and collided with a train traveling along the Makhachkala-Derbent railway route.
The Interior Ministry informed that the driver of the car died at the scene from serious injuries.
A criminal case was opened in Izhevsk on February 27 after the death of a teenager as a result of a collision between a snowmobile and a train. According to the investigation, three young men on a snowmobile collided with a commuter train due to the fact that they were crossing the tracks in a forbidden place and did not notice the approaching train.
