Support for Ukraine remains a "priority" for the EU, but the issue of sending peacekeeping missions is not within the competence of the European Commission, Annita Hipper, a representative of the latter, told Izvestia.

"The decision to send troops remains with the Member states," she stressed.

Australia, Great Britain, Canada, France and Sweden are currently among the states willing to send their peacekeepers to Ukraine. Berlin and Rome spoke out against the premature dispatch of troops to Ukraine. Slovakia, Finland and Croatia also don't like the initiative of Paris and London.
