The Syrian and Lebanese defense ministries have reached an agreement on a ceasefire on the border

The Defense Ministries of Syria and Lebanon have agreed on a ceasefire on the common border and increased coordination of actions. This was reported on Monday, March 17, by the Syria TV channel.

The press service of the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the ministry had reached an agreement with its Lebanese counterparts.

For its part, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Lebanese Defense Minister Michel Menassa had a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Marhaf Abu Qasra to discuss developments on the border between the two countries.

Israel maintains a presence at five positions in the neighboring country and does not seem to be going to lose control over it.

Earlier, on March 4, Russian Ambassador to the Lebanese Republic Alexander Rudakov reported on the deterioration of the situation on the Lebanese-Syrian border due to Israeli strikes. At the same time, the ambassador noted that at a number of border crossings, primarily at the Masnaa crossing, located on the main highway between Beirut and Damascus, the Syrian and Lebanese authorities have established specialized cooperation.
