- Egyptian President announces loss of $800 million per month due to the situation in the Red Sea

Egypt loses $800 million a month due to the situation with the Red Sea. This was announced on Monday, March 17, by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
"The country is incurring monthly losses of $800 million due to lower revenues from the Suez Canal due to the situation in the region," his official representative Mohammed al-Shinawi quoted the president as saying on his Facebook page (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are banned in the Russian Federation).
But the president noted that Egypt "continues to develop steadily," despite all the problems it has faced over the past 15 years.
On the same day, members of the Ansar Allah movement reported that in response to the aggression, the United States attacked the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern part of the Red Sea, using 18 ballistic and cruise missiles and one drone. Prior to that, a member of the political bureau of the movement, Khuzam al-Assad, said that Yemen would not negotiate with the United States.
Later, the Houthis threatened to reach a new level of escalation if the US attacks continued. In addition, the movement stressed that Yemen's ban on the passage of ships in the Red and Arabian Seas also applies to US vessels.
