US President Donald Trump has said Iran will be held responsible for attacks carried out by the Yemeni Houthis. He made the corresponding statement on Monday, March 17.

"From now on, every shot fired by the Houthis will be considered a shot fired by Iran's weapons and leadership, and Iran will bear responsibility and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be terrible," Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.

According to him, it is Iran that is behind the arming and financing of the Houthis, as well as the organization of their actions.

"They dictate every step, give them weapons, provide them with money and state—of-the-art military equipment, and even so-called 'intelligence data,'" the head of state asserts.

In addition, Trump expressed the opinion that Iran has not lost control of the Houthis and is only playing the role of a victim of "rogue terrorists."

On March 15, Trump announced that he had ordered the American military to begin military operations against the Houthis in Yemen. Later, on March 16, Al Masirah TV channel said that the US army had carried out an airstrike on a power plant in Dhayan in the province of Saada in northern Yemen.

On the same day, the Ansar Allah movement of the Yemeni Houthis announced that they would reach a new level of escalation in response. According to the latest data, 53 people were killed as a result of US strikes in Yemen.

On March 17, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Sean Parnell announced that the US intends to use "overwhelming deadly force" against the Yemeni Houthis until its goals are achieved.
