Former Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) player Tomasz Klocek died at the age of 47 as a result of a skiing accident. This was announced on Monday, March 17, by the Czech portal Blesk, citing sources.

The incident occurred in the area of Mount Medvedin in the Czech Republic on March 16. The clown crashed into an electric pole and suffered life-threatening injuries.

"According to the police, despite the fact that he was wearing a helmet and the pole was protected by a soft material, no one could help him," the publication says.

Klouchek played in the KHL from 2008 to 2012. He has 128 matches and 35 points to his credit. He is known for playing for Barys and Lev Prague. He also played in the National Hockey League (NHL) championships with the Rangers, Nashville and Atlanta. Klouchek retired in 2016.
