The administration of former US President Joe Biden "shamefully" forgot about the astronauts who were stuck on the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced on Monday, March 17, by the American leader Donald Trump.

"It started when I asked [SpaceX founder and head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk went up and picked up the abandoned astronauts, because the administration of [former US President Joe] Biden was unable to do so. They shamefully forgot about the astronauts because they considered it a very shameful event for them — another thing that I inherited from this failed group of incompetent people," he wrote on his Truth Social network.

According to the head of state, the astronauts will be returned home on Wednesday, March 19.

Earlier that day, it became known that the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov and astronauts Barry Wilmore, Sunita Williams and Nick Hague on board will return from the ISS on March 18. It is specified that the ship's undocking from the ISS should take place at 20:05 Moscow time.
