The over-the-counter dollar exchange rate dropped below 82 rubles


The over-the-counter dollar exchange rate on the international Forex market dropped below 82 rubles on the evening of March 17. This happened for the first time since the summer of 2024, according to the portal data. Investing.com .
According to information at 18:53 Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate fell by 3.49 rubles relative to the previous close — to 81.91 rubles.
On March 12, the Central Bank of Russia lowered the official dollar exchange rate by 1.82 rubles at once, then it dropped to 86.57 rubles.
Earlier in the day, Evgeny Shatov, a partner at Capital Lab, and Natalia Pyrieva, a leading analyst at Digital Broker, noted that the ruble continues to strengthen, reaching its lowest values against the dollar since June 2024. According to experts, the strengthening of the ruble is explained by the excessive supply of foreign currency from exporters.
