In the Stavropol Territory, a family of five people was poisoned, presumably after being treated at home with a special insect repellent, resulting in the death of an eight-year-old girl. This was announced on March 17 by the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the region in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, on March 17, a family of five people, including two minor children, felt a sharp deterioration in their health. After the emergency medical team was called, all family members were hospitalized. An eight-year-old girl died, and her 12-year-old brother is in intensive care.

It was previously established that the poisoning could have been caused by a special insect repellent used by the head of the family on the eve of the tragedy.

A criminal case was opened into the incident under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("causing death by negligence"). Currently, the Investigative Committee officers are conducting an inspection of the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

On the same day, a criminal case was opened in Khabarovsk into the death of an eight-year-old girl on the landing in an apartment building. It was clarified that the schoolgirl got into a narrow space between the flights of stairs, as a result of which, according to preliminary data, the child's death occurred.
