- Putin pointed to the closeness of the positions of the Russian Federation and Tajikistan on global issues.

The positions of Russia and Tajikistan on global issues are similar. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 17.
"The discussion of the current regional and global agenda has once again confirmed the commonality of the positions of our countries. Russia and Tajikistan are committed to the principles of the rule of international law, sovereignty, and non—interference in internal affairs," he said after talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon.
The Head of State noted that the parties coordinate in key areas and on the main international platforms in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
In addition, Putin pointed out that Moscow is supporting Dushanbe during its CIS presidency this year.
Also, following the talks with Rahmon, the Russian president called Russia one of the key investors in Tajikistan's economy. According to him, more than 300 enterprises with Russian participation operate in the republic, and the total investment of the Russian Federation amounted to $ 1.6 billion.
