More than 300 applications from 17 countries were submitted to participate in the V International Festival of Proper Cinema, which is organized by the Victory Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Cinematographers from Russia, Belarus, Australia, Armenia, Denmark, India, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan will present their works. The Film Forum is dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory and will be held from April 30 to May 10 in Moscow and the regions.
"The landmark event of the jubilee year will be the V International Festival of Proper Cinema, which has been held by the museum since 2022. The festival program will consist of two parts: competitive and non-competitive. These areas will be complemented by educational and educational events, including creative meetings with film authors, film crews, as well as round tables," said Lara Pomykanova, director of the International Festival of Proper Cinema, head of the Poklonka Cinema at the Victory Museum.
Experts will select 30 films to participate in the competition program. The films will be presented in the following categories: feature films, documentaries, animated and short films, as well as special reports. As part of the festival's competition program, the international expert council will determine the best films of the film forum and award the winners.
The out-of-competition program will include about 30 films from the film archives of the participating countries and partner projects of the festival. Viewers will be able to watch films of various genres, both Russian and foreign production.
The main venue of the festival will be the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora. Screenings are also planned at branches of the Victory Museum, regional cultural and educational institutions, All-Russian children's centers, as well as at Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices abroad. All sessions will be free of charge.
