Thailand plans to reduce the period of visa-free stay of tourists in the country to 30 days. This was reported on March 17 by the Bangkok Post newspaper with reference to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

"The period of visa—free stay in Thailand is planned to be reduced from 60 to 30 days," the article says.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism, Sorawong Thienthong, clarified that the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recognized the problem of foreigners using the visa-free regime to conduct illegal business.

It is noted that the relevant authorities have agreed to shorten the deadline in order to reduce the risk of conducting illegal business in the country.

Currently, citizens of 93 countries are allowed to enter Thailand for tourist purposes without a visa.

On January 16, the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) announced that it had become easier for Russian citizens to apply for a Schengen visa to travel around Europe after the New Year holidays. Irina Manuilskaya, Head of sales at the Sodis tour operator, shared that Greece is the most affordable option for applying for a Schengen visa.
