Putin awarded the rank of Major General to Hero of Russia Beloglazov

Hero of Russia Alexander Beloglazov was awarded the rank of Major General. The relevant decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin was published on March 17 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To assign military ranks: Major General <...> Alexander Mikhailovich Beloglazov," the document says.

By decree of the Russian president, the rank of Major General was also awarded to the commanders of the 115th separate special forces brigade, Ivan Klemin, and the 28th separate special forces unit, Ratnik, Alexander Parunov. In addition, the president awarded the special rank of Major General of police to Dmitry Ocheretyan, commander of the St. Petersburg SOBR Granit of the Rosgvardiya.

Putin praised the steadfastness of the Russian Armed Forces and called on the special services not to disrupt the negotiations between Moscow and Washington.

Earlier, on March 10, Putin awarded cosmonauts Alexander Grebenkin and Nikolai Chub the title of Hero of Russia. It was clarified that they were awarded the honorary title for their courage shown during a long flight as part of the crew of the International Space Station (ISS).
