The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation expects that the first certification flight of a fully import-substituted MC-21 aircraft with a Russian PD-14 engine will take place in June-July of this year. Anton Alikhanov, the head of the department, told reporters about this on March 17.

"The first flights in a fully import-substituted form with all import—substituted systems and with PD-14 will be in late June - early July. This is the data of our colleagues from the UAC (United Aircraft Corporation. — Ed.)," TASS quoted him as saying.

Alikhanov clarified that MS-21 flights are already underway, but with foreign engines. According to him, part of the certification work is currently underway.

On March 17, the Russian prototype Superjet (SJ-100) aircraft made its first flight with domestic PD-8 engines. The press service of Rostec State Corporation clarified that the plane was in the air for about 40 minutes. It reached a speed of 500 km/h and rose to 3 thousand meters.
