Fico called for the restoration of gas transit through Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called for the restoration of gas transit through Ukraine. He posted the corresponding post on March 17 on his Facebook page (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).
He noted that he had met with the ambassadors of the European Union (EU) countries at the office of the Slovak government.
"First of all, I stressed that without gas transit through Ukraine, Europe will never be competitive, and that the Slovak Republic will continue its diplomatic offensive to resume this transit," the Slovak Prime minister wrote.
Earlier, on March 15, Bloomberg reported that Slovakia and Germany hope to return gas supplies from Russia, as high energy prices affect their ability to compete with foreign producers. According to the newspaper, gas storage became an even bigger problem, as the continent was using up its reserves faster due to the cold winter.
