Slovakia will not take part in military missions in Ukraine. This was announced on March 17 by Prime Minister Robert Fico following a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union (EU) member states.

"Slovakia will not participate in any military mission in Ukraine and will not spend a cent on military assistance," he wrote on Facebook (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

Fico clarified that he supports holding another joint meeting of the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine with an emphasis on mutually beneficial projects.

On March 11, Responsible Statecraft magazine reported that European countries disagreed on the issue of support for Ukraine. It was clarified that the EU states could not agree on a common position due to the veto imposed by Hungary.

On March 7, Fico announced that Slovakia would not finance military operations in Ukraine. He also noted that Bratislava would not provide Kiev with free military equipment.
