The Shatursky Fish Farm, a full-cycle fish farm with a capacity of 220 tons of products per year, will be restored in the Moscow Region. The agreement on the implementation of the investment project has already been signed, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported on Monday, March 17.

"We continue to develop the fishing industry — last year the volume of commercial fish production exceeded 4.1 thousand tons. The share of the Moscow region in the total value of exports of chilled fish in Russia has reached 37%," said Sergey Dvoinykh, head of the department.

According to him, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have become the key trading partners of the region. According to the minister, the implementation of the investment project will increase production capacity.

As part of the first stage, specialists will restore 98 hectares of ponds and launch fish into them. At the second stage, another 210 hectares will be harvested. About 60 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes, the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya writes.

The farm will grow pike, carp, walleye, white amur and other fish, as well as fish planting materials. Shatursky will also handle the processing and sale of fish products. The facility will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2031, and 30 new jobs will be created there.

Earlier in March, it was reported that new special economic zones (SEZs) were planned to be created in the Vologda, Moscow and Novosibirsk regions. In total, more than 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes.
