Matvienko pointed to the continuation of multifaceted cooperation with Azerbaijan


Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko summed up the results of her meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on March 17. According to her, Russia has gained firm confidence in the republic's commitment to continue multifaceted cooperation between states.
According to her, the parties also discussed topical issues on the current agenda. Matvienko noted that the meeting was informative, open and substantive.
"And so I want to say with full confidence that, just like Russia, Azerbaijan is determined to continue building such high—level relations, relations of allied partnership and good neighborliness, and mutual respect," the chairman of the Federation Council told reporters.
She also added that parliamentary dialogue complements interstate relations today.
Earlier on March 17, it was reported that the parties discussed the expansion of trade, economic, and cultural cooperation between the states, and also touched upon the current international situation.
