"A thorough exchange of views took place on global trends in global development, the formation of a polycentric world and Eurasian architecture," the message said.
It is noted that during the consultations, Grushko and Takht-Ravanchi discussed the situation in Europe, including threats to stability and security emanating from NATO and the European Union (EU), as well as the situation in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the activities of the EU Council. Particular attention was paid to the inadmissibility of using illegal unilateral restrictions in international relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The parties stated their mutual interest in further deepening the bilateral political dialogue. The importance of strengthening cooperation within the SCO, BRICS and other formats was noted," the ministry added.
It is clarified that Grushko and Takht-Ravanchi approved the upcoming free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran, agreeing to continue consultations.
Earlier, on March 14, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia, China and Iran had agreed on joint actions aimed at reducing external pressure during a meeting in Beijing on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. The representatives of the States stressed the inadmissibility of threats, intimidation and the use of military force against Iran's nuclear energy infrastructure facilities.
