- The Board approved amendments on the right of widows of participants to use their cars

The spouses of the deceased participants of the special military operation (SVO) will be able to use their cars before inheriting. On Monday, March 17, the bill was approved by the government commission on legislative activity, sources in the government told Izvestia. The document is available to the editorial staff. The relevant bill was prepared by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
"The draft law provides that the spouse of a person who died in his service has the right to use a vehicle that was registered to the deceased before entering into the inheritance. The relevant certificate will be issued by a notary," said Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Bar Association.
Gruzdev added that on the basis of a document issued by a notary, the spouse of the participant of the CTP has the right to conclude a CTP agreement.
"The amendments are aimed at supporting the spouses of persons who died as a result of performing their own tasks by establishing a mechanism for the surviving spouse to use vehicles owned by the deceased. However, there may be a situation when another person becomes the heir to such a transport. In this case, the surviving spouse bears a tort liability to persons who will acquire a vehicle as a result of accepting the inheritance," summed up the Chairman of the Board of AYUR.
Earlier that day, the Federation Council announced that senators would submit to the State Duma a draft law on payment in case of injury or death of a serviceman in a special military operation within 15 days of receipt of the documents. Vladimir Yakushev, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, clarified that so far the time frame for reviewing documents differs from one law enforcement agency to another and can be up to 60 days.
