Bashneft's "green" investments reached 9.5 billion rubles in 2024.

Bashneft, a part of Rosneft, allocated 9.5 billion rubles for environmental protection projects in 2024, the company's press service reported. Over the past five years, Bashneft's environmental investments have exceeded 37.6 billion rubles.
One of the significant areas of Bashneft's environmental activities is the restoration of forests and aquatic biological resources. In 2024, the company's employees planted almost 750,000 trees on an area of more than 200 hectares in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra and Nenets Autonomous Okrug. This figure is 45% higher than the results of the previous year.
As part of initiatives to preserve ecosystems and maintain biodiversity in the regions where Bashneft operates, it implements projects for the reproduction of aquatic biological resources. Oil workers have released more than 160,000 sterlet, whitefish and salmon fry into the reservoirs of Bashkortostan, Khanty-Mansiysk and Nenets Autonomous Okrugs. Releases were conducted under the supervision of employees of the departments of state control, supervision and protection of aquatic biological resources, who select suitable reservoirs based on optimal conditions for reproduction and restoration of the population.
As part of the water resources protection program, the biological treatment plants of the Ufa group of refineries have processed 157 million m3 of wastewater since their launch in 2019. The treatment facilities not only serve Bashneft's refineries, but also treat wastewater from more than 50 enterprises in the northern industrial zone of Ufa, as well as storm water. Their use increases the volume of recycled water in technological processes by 2.5 times. Thanks to the membrane reactor technology, all impurities and microorganisms are removed from wastewater. As a result, the water quality meets the standards required for fisheries reservoirs.
