President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law that grants the head of state the right to send units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to other countries under martial law. This was announced on March 17 on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the document, the Ukrainian military can be sent abroad to ensure security and defense, as well as to protect the interests of Ukraine, including its sovereignty.

Decisions on the deployment of troops will be made exclusively by the President. At the same time, he will be required to provide information about the tasks that the Armed Forces of Ukraine must perform in another country, as well as indicate the number of units being dispatched.

The Wall Street Journal reported on February 8 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are acutely aware of the shortage of ammunition: 10 Russian shells account for one of them. After an unsuccessful counteroffensive attempt by the Ukrainian army last year, its reserves of manpower and equipment are severely depleted, and this is reflected in the course of the fighting.
