Employees of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) in Samara have stopped a channel for smuggling aircraft parts to the UAE and the Republic of Congo. This was announced on March 17 by the press secretary of the regional customs Daria Loseva.

According to the investigation, the attackers took out 280 contraband spare parts worth more than 8 million rubles.

"Samara customs officers, together with the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Ulyanovsk region, stopped the channel of smuggling aircraft spare parts to Kyrgyzstan with their subsequent export to the UAE and the Republic of Congo. <...> Three criminal cases have been initiated against the company's CEO," Loseva said.

According to her, spare parts for Russian aircraft and helicopters were supplied to the EAEU countries under international contracts concluded with the Ulyanovsk company. It is noted that permissive licenses are needed for the export of these products, as it is believed that these are dual-use products. In this case, the necessary permissions were not available.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Smuggling of equipment that can be used to create weapons or military equipment") against the head of the exporting company.

Administrative protocols have been introduced against the company for non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions on the export of goods.

Earlier, on March 12, law enforcement agencies uncovered an arms smuggling channel linked to the Batal-Hadji sect (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation). According to the Izvestia source, some of these weapons were used by terrorists to attack the Crocus City Hall concert hall. According to investigators, they transported Glock pistols to Ingushetia in electrical appliances, parts of which were found in hiding places.
