Retro Renault sports car will start selling in 2027

Renault will begin selling the 5 Turbo 3E electric sports car in 2027, with a circulation of only 1,980 copies. This was announced on March 17 by the company's press service.
During the development of the model, Renault engineers worked together with Alpine brand specialists, they were inspired by the iconic 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 models from the 1980s, from which the novelty inherited the exterior style.
Representatives of the company said that they consider the model to belong to a new class of "mini-supercar" — a hot hatch as long as a city car and as wide as a supercar. The car is 4.08 m long, 2.03 m wide, and 1.38 m high. The wheelbase is 2.57 m and the ground clearance is 118 mm.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E has only rear-wheel drive. The twin—engine power plant with a total capacity of 540 hp allows you to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h. The maximum torque is stated at 4800 Nm.
The weight of the sports car is 1,450 kg, the battery with a capacity of 70 kWh allows you to travel about 400 km on a single charge, and thanks to the 800-volt architecture, you can increase the battery charge from 15 to 80% in 15 minutes.
On March 14, it was reported that the new Jaecoo J5 crossover will appear in Russian car dealerships in the summer of 2025. It will be the most compact model in the brand's lineup. Karaoke mode will be integrated into the J5 multimedia system. It is noted that the car is adapted for trips with pets. The finish is characterized by increased wear resistance, and a special folding ladder allows animals to climb into the cabin.
