Blogger Lercek was left under house arrest

The Moscow City Court has left blogger Lerchek (real name — Valery Chekalin) under house arrest. This was announced on March 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

It is clarified that the blogger did not attend the meeting itself. She asked the court to consider the complaint without her participation.

The lawyers appealed to the judge with a request to replace the measure of restraint for Chekalina from house arrest to a ban on certain actions or a written undertaking not to leave so that she could communicate with her family and mother. To this, the judge asked the question: "Who does Chekalina want to communicate with? Does Valeria really not communicate with her mother?" The blogger's defender was unable to appeal in response.
