The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) introduced a course on the rules of conduct in captivity during the fighting in the Kursk region. This was reported on March 17 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

It is specified that this information was obtained during the interrogation of a prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said that the special course was introduced against the background of the defeats of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region.

"The teachers of the training course recognized that most of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forcibly mobilized, they would surrender at the first opportunity, where they should not tell too much," TASS reports.

On March 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting at the control center of the Kursk group of the Russian Armed Forces, noted the need to treat captured Ukrainian militants in the Kursk region as terrorists. He also recalled that foreign mercenaries are not subject to the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
