Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme to deceive Russians under the guise of recalculating rent. This was announced on March 17 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

The attackers are calling pensioners and offering to recalculate the rent. It is noted that they are represented by employees of the management company in order to obtain personal data of citizens.

"Don't believe it. This is fraud," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

On March 16, the Russian Interior Ministry said that fraudsters could gain access to a SIM card and a mobile bank under the pretext of checking a phone line on behalf of a cellular operator. The agency recommended that such calls be dropped immediately.
