On March 17, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced its readiness to start the sowing campaign.

"The current figures correspond to the average values over the past five years. At the same time, in many regions, the preparation of seeds for sowing has already been almost completed. In the Rostov and Omsk regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Kabardino-Balkarian, Chechen, and Udmurt republics, the level of security for individual crops reaches 90-100%," the Ministry of Agriculture said.

It is noted that special attention is paid to the use of seeds of domestic breeding. By the end of 2024, their market share increased to 67.6%.

Crops were lost on an area of about 1 million hectares, another 700 thousand hectares of crops were damaged, 600 thousand hectares of them are occupied by grain. Yields are expected to decrease in these areas.
