The State Duma called Macron's idea of peacekeepers an intervention

French President Emmanuel Macron's idea of deploying peacekeepers from European countries to Ukraine is an intervention. This was announced on March 17 by State Duma deputy from Crimea, Reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev.
"The purpose of Macron's plan is the intervention of Ukraine. As in December 1918, new interventionists are rushing to Odessa and other cities of Ukraine. At that time, 15,000 French troops led by General D showed themselves particularly cruelly.'Anselm together with the Polish legionnaires," he told RIA Novosti.
According to him, such people were also called peacekeepers, but their actions led to famine and repression. Ivlev recalled that the French occupiers "shamefully fled" to the territory of Romania.
"Obviously, he (Macron — Ed.) doesn't care what he loses," the MP stressed.
On March 16, the French president announced that European states could send their military contingent to Ukraine and deploy it, in particular, in Kiev, Lviv and Odessa. He also clarified that the troops of European countries will implement programs for training military personnel and demonstrations.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 13 that Europe was planning to send peacekeepers to Ukraine, which could lead to an escalation of the situation. According to her, Russia has been aware of the presence of Western military personnel in Ukraine since 2015. Some of them stay in the country under the guise of instructors, advisers, and volunteers.
