On March 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of abandoned fortified positions of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which were knocked out by soldiers of the 352nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the North group of forces during the liberation of the settlements of Kositsa and Cherkassk Porechnoye in the Kursk region.
In the video, you can see the fortifications of the Ukrainian army located on a hill, where enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were mainly stationed. The Russian military also demonstrated abandoned weapons manufactured in NATO countries, including grenade launchers and ammunition.
The chief of staff of the battalion with the call sign Vostok noted that due to the weight of the weapon, the Ukrainian military were abandoning it and rapidly leaving their positions.
On March 9, the ministry reported that the Russian military had liberated the settlements of Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Kositsa and the village of Lebedevka in the Kursk region.
On March 8, the Ministry of Defense said that the Russian army had taken control of the settlements of Viktorovka, Nikolaevka and Staraya Sorochina in the Kursk region. During the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 180 militants and various military equipment in this area, including a German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle.
