Waltz: Ukraine deal will provide for Kiev's renunciation of territories

One of the options for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine would involve Kiev giving up part of the territories in exchange for future security guarantees. Mike Waltz, assistant to the President of the United States Donald Trump, announced this on March 16 on ABC News.
"An option is envisaged with territories for future security guarantees, the future status of Ukraine," he said.
In addition, Waltz noted that permanent membership in NATO is "extremely unlikely" for Ukraine. According to him, this is how they think not only in the United States, but also in some other member countries of the alliance.
On the evening of March 16, Stephen Witkoff, the American leader's special envoy for the Middle East, said that great progress had been made in discussing the conflict in Ukraine at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to him, Washington expects that the upcoming telephone conversation between the Russian leader and US President Donald Trump will be positive and constructive. He specified that the heads of state could contact next week.
