- Matvienko called negotiations on security in Europe without Russia and Belarus a utopia

Discussing European security without the participation of representatives from Russia and Belarus is utopian. This was announced on March 16 by the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
"No matter how many billions they allocate, it is utopia to talk about pan—European security without the participation of Russia and Belarus. And everyone understands this," she said on the Belarus 1 TV channel.
In addition, Matvienko recalled that the Russian Federation has repeatedly called on European states to reach an agreement at the negotiating table, because security is equal for all countries. She also called for the development of appropriate mechanisms.
In addition, the Chairman of the Federation Council drew attention to the fact that European countries are now in a state of division. Many states are engaged in militarization instead of paying attention to their economies, she noted.
"Come to your senses, you understand what a crack there is in the European Union! Just a crack. Someone is talking, someone is not talking publicly, but everyone there already disagrees so much with this, I would say, a new form of the European Union dictatorship. This is a real dictatorship. It is impossible to express your opinion there," Matvienko said.
On March 3, Paul Vallely, Chairman of the Stand Up U.S. Foundation, announced that Russia should be in a security system that includes the West. According to him, the Russian Federation cannot be taken beyond the framework of such structures. He also mentioned India and other BRICS countries as states with which it is necessary to cooperate.
