Seven days of mourning for those killed in the fire were declared in North Macedonia.


The Government of North Macedonia has declared seven days of mourning for those killed in a nightclub fire in the city of Kochani. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the government's press service on March 16.
"At today's extraordinary government meeting, following the tragic event in the municipality of Kochani, where 59 people died in an accident during a fire at a disco, and more than 100 were hospitalized and are receiving medical care, the government decided to declare seven days of mourning throughout the country," the statement said.
The press service also reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia will open a book of condolences in connection with the tragedy.
The day before, the Republic of Serbia declared March 18 a day of mourning for those killed and injured in a nightclub fire in the city of Kochani in Northern Macedonia. The fire in a nightclub in Kochani became known on the same day. According to preliminary data, the fire occurred due to the use of pyrotechnics. At that time, 50 deaths were reported, later their number increased to 59.
