The words of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak about the need to steal Russian assets "as soon as possible" are "immoral morality." This was announced on March 16 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"It's one of the English traditions, like tea drinking and horse racing. The fact is that piracy has been legalized in England. Pirates were forbidden to attack British ships, but they were allowed to rob competitors' ships. Immoral morality," Zakharova said in a Telegram message.

She also cited the example of the British pirate Henry Morgan, who was the head of a large pirate fleet, attacked various countries and at one point captured Panama. But after his arrest, he was not punished, but made the vice governor of Jamaica.

"Robbery and murder under license is the calling card of the British Crown and its subjects," the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.

On March 2, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that there was no consensus among the participants of the summit on the Ukrainian conflict in London on the issue of the seizure of frozen Russian assets. According to him, most of the leaders of the countries expressed the opinion that this was a good idea, but some reacted to this proposal with caution, fearing "consequences for the euro or the banking system."

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the next day, on March 3, that attempts to seize Russia's frozen assets for transfer to Ukraine would have serious legal consequences. He noted that there have been more and more such ideas in the West lately.
