Ukraine's membership in NATO is unlikely, and not only the United States, but also other members of the alliance agree with this position, Mike Waltz, assistant to US President Donald Trump for National Security, said on March 16.

"A permanent path to NATO, or permanent membership in NATO, is incredibly unlikely for Ukraine. And this [comes] not only from the United States, but also from a number of other countries," Waltz said on ABC News.

Trump's aide also noted that the United States may take measures against Russia if it does not agree to the ceasefire regime proposed by the American leader in Ukraine.
