An unpredictable shot is a key part of the game of the Russian forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin. Two-time Olympic hockey champion Alexander Kozhevnikov told Izvestia about this on March 16.

"The most important thing is his shot. <...> It's impossible to react there. <...> The goalkeeper does not understand where it (the puck. — Ed.) flies. <...> Where is she going? No one knows," he said.

The former USSR national team player noted that Ovechkin spends time in the National Hockey League (NHL) This is the twentieth season, continuing to show the highest level of play from year to year. According to Kozhevnikov, the love of the game is at the heart of the striker's athletic durability.

At the same time, as the former athlete noted, Ovechkin still has a lot to strive for when it comes to sports awards — the Russian striker has not yet won Olympic gold.

"He'll probably play until he's 50 [years old] with his health. Because he wants to become an Olympic champion when we are allowed in. This is his only undefeated medal," Kozhevnikov suggested.

He also noted that it was thanks to Ovechkin that many children in Russia started playing hockey.

A day earlier, Ovechkin scored the 887th career goal against the San Jose Sharks. The forward reduced the gap from the record of Canadian hockey player Wayne Gretzky to seven goals, and also surpassed him in goals in one calendar month.
