At least 50 people were killed in a nightclub fire in the city of Kochani in Northern Macedonia. This was reported by the local portal A1on.

It is specified that the incident occurred on the night of March 16.

"At least 50 people died at a disco in Kochani, where <...> a fire broke out during a concert by a well—known band," the article says.

Presumably, pyrotechnics could be the cause of the fire.

According to the portal, at the time of the fire, the nightclub was full of people. Local hospitals are unable to cope with the flow of victims, and some patients have been sent to other cities.

The Interior Minister of North Macedonia, Panche Toshkovsky, is at the scene of the incident, and the country's Prime Minister, Christian Mickoski, is also on his way there.

According to the Sabah newspaper, the fire could have occurred by mistake of employees. They allowed hot oil to get on the grill, after which a fire broke out. 28 people were detained in the case of the fire.
