The area of the landscape fire in Dagestan increased to 8 hectares

The area of the landscape fire in the Akhtyn district of Dagestan has increased to 8 hectares. This was announced on March 16 by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"The total area covered by the fire is 8 hectares, of which 1.5 hectares are on the lands of the forest fund. Extinguishing is complicated by the inaccessible terrain," the department's Telegram channel says.
More than 120 people and 22 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
It is also clarified that there is no threat to settlements and economic facilities.
The fire broke out on March 15 on a mountainside, 2 km from the village of Khryug. A group of 64 people was involved in extinguishing the fire. It is noted that fire extinguishing is complicated by the inaccessible terrain and the lack of access to specialized equipment.
