The Court of the District of Columbia demanded to stop the mass deportations of migrants from the United States, carried out on the basis of the "Enemy Aliens Act" of 1798. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 16.

"U.S. District Judge James Boasberg on Saturday ordered the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to immediately cease efforts to expel these Venezuelan migrants until he has more time to consider the matter," the material says.

The judge also demanded that any plane with migrants that is about to take off or is in the air "must be returned to the United States, no matter how it is done."

It is noted that Boasberg banned the expulsion of migrants for 14 days until the court determines the legality of the actions of the Trump administration.

According to Politico, at the time of the court's decision, two planes carrying deported migrants were already approaching their destinations in El Salvador and Honduras.

Earlier, on March 15, it was reported that the Trump administration was going to introduce new restrictions on entry to the country for citizens of 43 countries, including Russia and Belarus. According to the newspaper, the draft of new entry restrictions is being developed by diplomats and security personnel. They also make recommendations on revising the list of countries for political reasons.
