Train traffic restored in Amur region after derailment


Train traffic on the Chalgany —Ushumun section of the Trans-Baikal Railway was fully restored after the freight train derailed. This was announced on March 16 by the Russian Railways company.
"On March 16, at 07:52 Moscow time, restoration work was completed at the freight train derailment site. Traffic is open on both tracks of the Chalgany – Ushumun stage," the carrier's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the railway workers restored 600 m of one track and 300 m of the other. About 400 people, four recovery trains, three track machinery stations and other special equipment were involved in the work.
"The passenger trains detained as a result of the derailment have been sent along the following routes. Russian Railways is taking measures to normalize the timetable of passenger and freight trains," the company added.
On the morning of March 15, in the Amur Region, on the Chalgany — Ushumun section of the Trans-Baikal Railway, freight train cars derailed and collided with an oncoming train. 28 wagons and two sections of the locomotive derailed. A criminal case has been opened on this fact under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport").
