Politico called the strikes in Yemen part of Trump's new policy in the Middle East.

The US strikes in Yemen are part of the new policy of the administration of the American leader Donald Trump to expand military activity in the Middle East. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 16, citing an unnamed official.
The publication noted that the attacks aimed at the Yemeni Houthis are being carried out against the background of new attacks on Syria.
"There will be more attacks in the region, as the military sees new opportunities for strikes," the publication clarifies.
The newspaper also stressed that strikes have become more frequent, as the US military can now produce them without the direct approval of the White House.
On March 15, Trump announced that he had ordered the US military to begin operations against the Yemeni Houthis. He noted that the decision is due to the fact that the Houthis are waging an "ongoing campaign of piracy, violence and terrorism" directed against American ships and ships of other countries, as well as aircraft and drones. Soon, the central command of the US Armed Forces announced the start of a large-scale operation in Yemen. The Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement, in turn, stressed that the American airstrikes would not go unanswered. According to the Al Jazeera TV channel, at least 13 people were killed as a result of the US attacks on Yemen.
